Meet The Staff
Mel Eash
Director/Head Counselor
"Good advice is often confusing but example is always clear.  I'd rather have you walk with me than merely point the way." Guy Doud
Mel and his wife, Charlotte, have 6 children,  2 married and 4 still at home.  Charlotte homeschools their 4 children and the family raises/trains Laborador Retrievers as a side business from their home.  Mel was born into an old order Amish family in Topeka, IN with 7 brothers and sisters. Mel married Charlotte in 1992 after which they moved to Millersburg, OH where He worked at Weaver Leather.  In 1992, Mel and Charlotte joined a ministry called "Freedom Hills." There they found healing to the broken areas of their lives.  They had the privilege of leading others to that same healing for the next seven years. In 2000, they returned to Indiana where Mel managed a grocery store in Topeka and continued to care for people who came to him, looking for healing and freedom from their own brokenness. In 2003, Mel was called to the pastoral ministry at Townline Mennonite Church as an Associate Pastor.  In 2005, he was called to be Senior Pastor at Townline and served in that role until 2016 when he left that role so he could solely focus on Grace Haven.

In 2005, area Anabaptist pastors met to discuss the need of a counseling center such as "Freedom Hills" here in Indiana.  In Janurary of 2007, "Grace Haven" became a reality with Mel serving as the director.  Over the past 12 years, Mel has furthered his training in Colorado Springs, CO with Caring for the Heart Ministries.
Christina Miller
Christina spent 13 years in an inner-city mission school in Reading, PA where God opened her heart and eyes to the needs of hurting young ladies.  It is there where God birthed in her the passion to walk with single ladies on their journey and led her to Grace Haven in 2014.  She began her own journey of finding healing and freedom and in 2015, began meeting with single ladies, helping them find answers to the questions in their hearts and leading them to Jesus, the healer of wounded and broken hearts.

Christina enjoys connecting with friends and family, seeing God-created details through the lens of her camera, and simply enjoying nature in God's beautful outdoor world.

Garrett and Audrey have a desire to walk beside individuals and couples to understand the brokenness they face and to help them find resolution and healing in Jesus Christ.  Garrett enjoys public teaching and speaking on who is God and how he has created mankind to function and relate to Him.
Beth Carpenter
"The experiences of our lives,  when we let God use them,
become the mysteries and perfect preparation for the work He will give us to do."  Corrie ten Boom
Beth has been the secretary here at Grace Haven since 2015.  She enjoys interacting with people over the phone and greeting them when they arrive at the office.  Her job involves a variety of tasks including scheduling appointments, designing newsletters, and cleaning the office.
Many people come through the doors and while she does not personally hear their story, she sees the tears, the fear, the hurt.  Eventually she sees the smile, the sparkle in the eye, and the spring in the step that shows that God is in the process of restoring hearts.
Beth lives in Michigan and attends Calvary Chapel.  She still occasionally works as a CNA at a local nursing home. She enjoys music, the outdoors, a good laugh and meaningful conversation.
